Close to a decade ago, Sunlight Charcoal started manufacturing and designing a product that would prove to shape the incense and flavor burning community for years to come: our original Instant Lighting Charcoal.
Our Story
The effect was instant- the brand quickly stacked the shelves of thousands of shops in our home state of New Jersey, and later spread to the east coast.
Now, Sunlight Charcoal is used and loved by many in the greater North America, Hawaii, Canada, and Mexico- and we are only just getting started.

Perfect for Incense
Our charcoals burn at the perfect temperature to fill up your whole room with sweet incense. Each disc will burn your incense for up to 45 minutes!
How to use Sunlight Charcoal for Incense:
- Hold the charcoal away from your fingers (using a tong). Light it with a match and watch the tiny sparks ignite. Be careful! Charcoal can burn up to 1500 degrees.
- Place the coal in at least 2 inches of sand, unless you are using a burner with a metal mesh, in which case no sand is needed.
- Place the resin incense on-top of the burning charcoal in a cone-like fashion, so that air can flow through.
- Enjoy as your room fills with incense!

What difference does it make?
33mm: The 33mm size is ideal for everyone. It is enough to fill a room with incense. For a prolonged session, however, its best to keep more than one disc handy. It will burn 30-45 minutes.
40mm: You have guests to entertain; you need to fill a large space or an outdoor setting with a particular mood. For just one of these will do the job. These will burn for 45+ minutes.

How to use Sunlight Charcoal for Incense:
- Hold the charcoal away from your fingers (using a tong). Light it with a match and watch the tiny sparks ignite. Be careful! Charcoal can burn up to 1500 degrees.
- Wait until the coal is done sparking. It is not ready for use until it is completely done sparking. (You don't want to breath in the sparks.
- Place the resin incense on-top of the head using your favorite flavor (we recommend the Sunlight Herbal flavors!)
